Jul Gorman (they/them) is a 30-something neurodivergent social worker, educator, and professional daydreamer. They live in New England, USA with their two little pups, Sage and Bismouth. Jul has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The State University of New York College at Cortland, a Master of Higher Education Administration from The University at Buffalo, and a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University.
By day, Jul is an ever-aspiring anti-carceral and anti-racist therapist specializing in working with college students experiencing mental health crises. By night, Jul is adjunct faculty in a Master of Social Work program, a member of a private practice therapy cooperative providing support to queer and disabled clients, a provider of trainings focused on gender affirming work in academia and respecting clients as the experts of their own experiences, and a graduate student in the Disability and Inclusion Studies program at Deakin University in Australia. Jul’s primary research interests are at the intersection of queerness, chronic illness, suicidality, and belonging.
In what little free time they have, Jul enjoys playing video games, trying (unsuccessfully) to teach themself to play the banjo, and spending time with their chosen family reading weird dystopian novels on whatever Australian beach is closest.
